Sol Duc Falls

Giving this a 3 for hazards as there was a sign saying bears have been spotted recently. We didn't see any though.  Family friendly hike, not very long either. I liked that you can choose to go on for 4, 8, or more miles depending on the sites you want to see. 🙂

Brandywine Falls

Really tourist popular area, and although you're not supposed to, there are many places you can hop the fence for a better view. Repercussions are $115 per person if you get caught though.

Third Beach - ONP

This beach is a must-see if you're ever in Olympic National Park. The view is breathtaking. You can camp on the beach if you have a permit, too!  Just the most amazing atmosphere. 10/10

Second Beach, Olympic National Park

Not a long hike and they keep the stairs maintained but can be slippery at times I'm sure. Also put difficulty of 2 and not very family friendly thanks to the driftwood you have to climb.  Easily the most beautiful beach I've seen. 👌🏻

Wouldn't recommend for kids because the creek current is quite strong.  Can access mayo lake from basin of Ailsa later in the...

Mount Nemo

This hike was really interesting. There are so many paths you can take and they're really well marked with colour coded patches on the trees. We spent about 3 hours walking around the park and could've easily spent the day. I'm really looking forward to returning in the spring!

Bruarfoss

Bruarfoss is a waterfall near the Golden Circle highlights of Gullfoss and Geysir. It is lesser-known and a requires a bit of light hiking to get there, which detracts the tour busses. What I loved about this Iceland waterfall is that there are no man made viewing decks, no signs, just you and...

The Ammonite - Coal Creek Road

So many great hikes off coal creek road, but this one started out as a journey to the number 9 mine... We were sadly on the wrong path but we ended up at the ammonite so I'll still call it a win :).  Any time spent with family in Nature should be cherished.

Gudrunarlaug

I think this was my favourite hot pool in Iceland. Pretty well in the middle of nowhere, near a used-to-be hotel, was this little gem. To get to the hot pool, you drive through Búðardalur and continue up Road 60 until you reach Sælingsdalsvegur. It is just after side road 590 on the left hand...
